ARTIST BIO

Carla Tucker

Creativity, observation & a general awe of all things beautiful have been a part of my life always.  I studied drawing & watercolour throughout school & graduated winning the school award for excellence in art. I have a degree in Textile Design from RMIT and worked in the fashion & textile industry for many years.  Whilst I have always had creative projects on the go, in the last 5 years, I have focused on oil painting full time.  I aim to  describe light, form & tone in a considered & harmonious way. I have undertaken many courses & workshops at both Australian & overseas studios and continual research to further my practice.  The portrait of my daughter Zoe was selected as a semi-finalist in the Darling Portrait Prize.

When not in the studio I enjoy sharing my passion for painting by teaching.
