ARTIST STATEMENT
I adore the vibrant, dynamic and abstract images created by painting with epoxy resin.
The medium of resin gives me freedom to create uniquely detailed and energetic combinations of pigments whose fluidity is gloriously accentuated by the glassy finish.
I use wooden/ MDF board as a substrate for all my resin work.
I am inspired by the harmonious colours and organic shapes of nature. The organic flow of the resin is an expression of my emotions at the time and I delight in the observers individual engagement with my abstract forms in their own special way.
ARTIST BACKGROUND
I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) at the University of South Australia in 1993 with majors in photography, printmaking and mixed media.
In 2002 I was awarded a Master of Visual Art (Research) specialising in Italian Renaissance Art History from the University of South Australia.
Professionally I have worked as Registered Nurse and Midwife for 36 years.
